ENT

Otolaryngology, commonly known as ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), is a medical specialty focused on the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the ear, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck. ENT specialists, or otolaryngologists, treat a wide variety of conditions, including hearing loss, ear infections, sinusitis, nasal obstructions, throat infections, and voice disorders. They also manage issues related to balance, allergies, and sleep apnea.

In addition to medical management, ENT specialists are skilled in surgical procedures such as tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, and sinus surgeries. They also perform more complex surgeries, including those to treat head and neck cancers, reconstructive surgeries, and cochlear implants for hearing restoration.

ENT doctors often focus on specific subspecialties, such as pediatric otolaryngology, laryngology (voice and swallowing disorders), rhinology (nasal and sinus conditions), and otology (ear and hearing problems). Their goal is to restore function and improve the quality of life for patients, addressing both acute issues and chronic conditions related to the ear, nose, throat, and neck.
