On the 17thof August 2024, the Indian Medical Association, had declared an ALL INDIA PROTEST, and a withdrawal of services for 24 hours starting from 6am 17thAugust 2024 to 6 am on 18th August 2024
The protest called for the closure of all non- essential services and medical establishments. Emergency services remained open.
The protest aimed at asking justice for the brutal murder of Dr. Moumita Debanath of R.G Kar Medical college Kolkatta.
The Doctors and staff of Akshaya Hospital willingly participated by paying homage to
Dr. Moumita Debanath by lighting candles followed by a silent prayer and a speech by Dr.Raghunandan and senior members from Akshayanagar association.
The program was attended by Akshaya Hospital doctors, staff and residents of Akshaynagar.
